Purple Flowers

June 2nd, 2009

More experience with the Aiptek GVS. Also a demo of some various editing effects via MS Moviemaker and some downloaded effects. They may be used more effectively later in other vids.

Trees In Bloom

May 26th, 2009

Out on my bike with my trusty Aiptek GVS video camera. Image stabilization on, 720/60fps, all hand held. It was a bit breezy so perhaps will play havoc with the dropped frames in the conversion process but still not too bad. I left the original background sounds intact. You can download the file for a possible better version. Edited with MS Moviemaker. Hey- don’t forget to click on the option to view this vid in High Definition quality. A number of streets in Ocean City, NJ are lined with these trees and they are all in bloom right now. I don’t know the species so if there is an arborist or “tree person” out there that can identify it, please tell me.

Biking

May 26th, 2009

Taken with my handy Aiptek GVS HD video camera. 720/60fps, all hand held (and it shows, I know!). A short clip of me biking a short distance on the Ocean City, NJ Boardwalk. This is at the southern end of the Bwalk where there are no shops and the nice Ipe wood to bike on. First time trying the camera while biking. Just holding in my hand. This Is Not A Clown Bike!! Although I am 6′3″ I can fit on the bike comfortably. I was once shown in a long running commercial, riding my bike on the OC Bwalk, for a local Philadelphia TV station. This is my folding bike that I have had for around 25 years. Until recently I owned a small plane and the the bike fit nicely in the baggage compartment. Now I can fold it up, put it in the carrying case, and put it in the closet when not being used. No rust! The shore climate would devour a metal bike otherwise.

Dandelions

May 13th, 2009

18 Apr 2009. Taken with my Aiptek GVS camera in 720/60fps (image stabilization) Macro mode. I was out biking and saw a nice clump of dandelions along the bike path so stopped to vid. A nice sunny day so very difficult to see the little LCD monitor so just had to guess at my framing. Auto focus worked quite well. In some cases you are looking across the flower so focus would have to pick a point and stick with it. I am in very close- at the end you will see my finger to get some perspective on size- and you know how big a dandelion flower is anyhow. I am pleased with the camera!

Salt Lake City Library

May 11th, 2009

This wildly modern library building was opened in 2003. I shot the video with an ultra small AIPTEK ACTION HD GVS video camera. What a pleasure to fit all the HD-format production equipment into a small photo bag.
